01 · Scope
Who we are and what this policy covers
Orbace Sudoku is developed and published by Orbace Technologies LLC, an independent technology company based in Troy, Michigan. In this policy, “Orbace,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Orbace Technologies LLC.
This policy covers the Orbace Sudoku website, mobile applications, and related services that link to it. Different versions of Orbace Sudoku offer different capabilities. A lightweight or offline version may keep most game information on your device, while a connected version may support accounts, cross-device progress, Su-Pu records, rankings, tournaments, or community features.
When a product screen or app-store disclosure provides more specific information about a feature, that information should be read together with this policy.
02 · Information
Information we handle
Website and device information
When you visit orbacesudoku.com, our hosting, security, analytics, and advertising services may process information such as IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, approximate region, timestamps, cookie or consent choices, and diagnostic events.
Information stored on your device
An offline version may store puzzle progress, settings, notes, completion history, scores, awards, or Su-Pu records locally on your device. Local data is not sent to Orbace unless you use a connected, support, sharing, backup, analytics, or advertising feature that indicates otherwise.
Account and profile information
If you create or use a connected account, we may handle your account identifier, sign-in provider identifier, email address when supplied by the sign-in method, display name, optional country or region, profile settings, consent records, and account status.
Puzzles, Su-Pu, rankings, and tournaments
Connected features may store puzzle identifiers, placements and notes, start and completion times, elapsed time, hints, mistakes, difficulty, score, Su-Pu replay data, awards, ranking results, tournament participation, and information needed to detect unfair or automated play.
Messages you send us
If you contact Orbace, we receive the information you provide, such as your name, email address, message, screenshots, puzzle ID, app version, and device details relevant to resolving the request.
Analytics and advertising identifiers
Ad-supported versions or website pages may use cookie identifiers, mobile advertising identifiers, device or app instance identifiers, approximate location inferred from an IP address, ad interactions, and diagnostic information. Precise GPS location is not required for ordinary Sudoku play.
03 · Use
Why we use information
We use information only for legitimate product and business purposes, including to:
- provide puzzles, save progress, restore connected accounts, and synchronize supported features;
- create Su-Pu replays, calculate awards and rankings, and administer tournaments;
- maintain fair competition, investigate abuse, and protect accounts and services;
- remember settings and consent choices;
- respond to support, privacy, and puzzle-correction requests;
- measure reliability and understand which features are useful;
- diagnose crashes, prevent fraud, and secure the website and applications;
- display and measure advertising in versions or pages that contain ads; and
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
Where consent is legally required for analytics, personalized advertising, or similar technologies, we request it before activating those uses.
04 · Sharing
When information is shared
We do not sell personal information for money. We may disclose limited information in these circumstances:
- Service providers: companies that support hosting, authentication, databases, security, analytics, crash reporting, email, customer support, or advertising process information for their assigned purpose.
- Public game features: a display name, selected country or region, score, rank, tournament result, award, or shared Su-Pu may be visible to other players when you choose or use a public feature. Avoid using your legal name if you do not want it displayed.
- Legal and safety needs: we may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights and safety, investigate fraud, or respond to valid legal process.
- Business changes: information may be transferred as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate protections.
Third-party platforms, including Apple, Google, authentication providers, and advertising providers, handle information under their own policies when you use their services.
05 · Cookies
Cookies, local storage, analytics, and advertising
The website may use cookies or similar storage to keep the site functional, preserve a puzzle state, remember consent, understand performance, prevent abuse, and support advertising. Mobile applications may use comparable device or app identifiers.
| Category | Purpose | Your choice |
|---|---|---|
| Necessary | Security, network delivery, consent records, and core functionality. | These cannot always be disabled while using the service. |
| Preferences | Remember settings, puzzle state, display choices, or region. | Clear browser or app storage, where supported. |
| Analytics | Measure visits, feature use, performance, and errors. | Use the consent controls where offered. |
| Advertising | Select, deliver, limit, and measure ads in ad-supported areas. | Use consent controls and device advertising settings. |
For the current list of technologies and providers used on the website, retention periods, and instructions for changing consent, see our Cookie Policy. Advertising should not be placed in a way that imitates or interferes with Sudoku controls.
06 · Choices
Your controls and privacy requests
Depending on the feature, device, and applicable law, you may be able to:
- play without creating a connected account;
- edit your display name, optional region, or other profile settings;
- choose whether a Su-Pu or result is shared publicly;
- decline non-essential cookies through the website consent controls;
- limit mobile advertising tracking through iOS or Android settings;
- clear locally stored game data by using in-app controls, clearing app data, or uninstalling the app, depending on platform;
- unsubscribe from optional email using the link in the message; and
- request access, correction, export, or deletion of eligible connected-account information.
To submit a request, email [email protected]. Tell us which Orbace product you use and provide enough information to locate the account. We may need to verify your identity. We may retain limited information when required for security, dispute resolution, legal compliance, or maintaining the integrity of completed ranking events.
07 · Care
Retention and security
We keep information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy. Retention depends on the kind of information: temporary logs may be kept for a shorter period, while account, ranking, transaction, consent, fraud-prevention, or legal records may need to be kept longer.
Information stored only on your device remains there until you clear it, uninstall the application, reset the device, or use an available deletion control. Orbace generally cannot recover locally stored information after it is deleted.
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the service. No internet transmission, mobile platform, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Protect your device and sign-in credentials, and contact us if you believe your account has been compromised.
08 · Children
Children’s privacy
Orbace Sudoku is a general-audience logic game and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly request personal information from children under 13 for connected accounts without any consent required by law. If you believe a child has provided personal information improperly, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.
Parents and guardians should review device, app-store, advertising, and account settings before allowing a child to use an ad-supported or connected version.
09 · Regional rights
Privacy rights by location
Privacy rights vary by location. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to know or access personal information, correct inaccuracies, request deletion, obtain a portable copy, restrict or object to certain processing, withdraw consent, or appeal a denied request.
You may also have the right to opt out of targeted advertising or certain transfers treated as a “sale” or “sharing” under regional law, even when no money is exchanged. Use the available consent or “Your Privacy Choices” control, if displayed, or contact us. We will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.
Information may be processed in the United States or other locations where our providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate mechanisms for international data transfers.
10 · Updates
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Orbace Sudoku evolves, service providers change, or legal requirements develop. We will change the “Last updated” date and, when appropriate, provide additional notice in the app, on the website, or by email. Material changes apply prospectively unless the law requires otherwise.
Earlier privacy-policy URLs should redirect to this canonical page so players can find one current explanation of Orbace’s practices.
